1. Start out making your house smell delicious with some Apple Spice Simmering Potpourri.
2. Then get festive with Autumn Leaf Candles.
I used mini pastry cutters to make the leaves, then placed them in jars and poured in the candle wax. Another leaf was set on top, with a hole to go over the wick.
3. Gourd Candle Lights are also another easy craft to make festive nests for votive or tea light candles. You could also use those tiny pumpkins for this one.
4. Use your dried herbs from this year’s garden to make some cute little guest soaps for your guest bathroom.
This one was Milk and Basil.
5. Even if you can’t find corn at your farmers markets anymore, dried corn husks are usually available at craft stores. You can make a Corn Husk Wreath for the door.
6. Or create adorable Corn Husk Dolls to decorate your home or holiday table. (Envision a corn husk doll at each place setting, with a little name plate for each guest to show them where they are to be seated. So much fun!)
7. It’s not too late most places to be Capturing Autumn for a table centerpiece.
8. Consider The Table Quilt instead of a traditional tablecloth this year.
If it’s a bit tattered, all the better.
9. You could also use this Ruffled Crochet Dishcloth pattern in autumn colors to make hot pads for your pretty dishes on your table.
10. Or make a Sweet Little Jam Cozy for your homemade Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce. (If making for a pint-size jar, just expand the pattern to fit.)

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, even as a child I would decorate our dinner table for that special dinner. I used a quilt last year on the table and it was beautiful. I love the corn husk wreath. Thank you.

I love the idea of using a quilt as your tablecloth. It would be an interesting concept to make a Thanksgiving Quilt with all the colors and images associated with the holiday, but with a few chickens in the road thrown in for good measure. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and we are almost there!

You are right. The holidays are coming. Too quickly for me to learn to crochet! Love the jam cozy! I could send each guest home with a jar of cranberry sauce with a cozy on. OH well, maybe next year!

I had to chuckle. Six years ago could you have imagined that today you’d be writing something like “Use your dried herbs from this year’s garden to make some cute little guest soaps for your guest bathroom”? The Martha Stewart of West Virginia!

I wish we still had autumn leaves for a center piece….but it’s Canada. And our Thanksgiving was last month. I love the idea of a quilt for the table though!
