"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-โas was the insulation. The floors werenโt even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, โYouโve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I have a new stealth kitty in my house who is currently terrorizing my dogs. She’s 9 weeks old and I swear my poor dogs have gone into hiding. They are so afraid of stealth kitty!

He’s one of the Powerpuff Girls–Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. (What? You all don’t watch this fabulous cartoon? YOU DON’T HAVE THE BOARD GAME??) We have a female dog named Blossom, and we had a female cat at the time named Bubbles. Unfortunately, Buttercup is a boy–but, you know, that didn’t stop us from filling out our Powerpuff Girl roster. We needed a Buttercup. He got stuck with it.
I think it’s why he’s perpetually cranky. Being a big male cat named after a Powerpuff Girl will do that to a guy. :wall:

Buttercup it is.
I don’t think kids ever get over the fact that all the animals are simply alive toys. My kids are using our latest arrival, Toby-the eight week old wonder, as a slingshot. The oldest wraps a hair wrap around him and then watches as he freaks out trying to get it off. Cheap entertainment, yes.
But at least she’s not bothering me.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I tend to keep children away from my cats. not having any living here makes it easier. when I got my first cat, and he was a kitten, I had an instance where I walked in and saw a little boy holding my cat up by the end of his leash. My cat was looking at me like “HELP … AIR!” After that experience, I tend to keep all kids away.
