First Good Day

Saturday was the first beautiful day here since spring supposedly sprung. Jerry came over with his four-wheeler and we took off to the dirt roads past my farm. I’ve been wanting to explore them for horseback riding potential, and it was a great and fun way to check them out. I think they’ll make a perfect place to ride–remote, quiet, no vehicle traffic. I was hoping to ride out there on horseback on Sunday, but it rained. I am so glad that nasty old March is gone! April is looking better already!

Suzanne, That sounds like a fun day. I love your farm and your sweet animals. I was fortunate enough to visit and learn to make cheese and soap from you back in November.(I love, love, love making soap.) You do a great job. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy everything through your blog.I have learned so very much from you over the years. Keep up the good work. I am SO looking forward to your book. :snoopy:

That’s a great way to spend the first nice day of spring! I’m so jealous! I got to ride the four wheeler too; but it was to check, clear, and fix fences! That counts, right? 🙂

Sounds like fun! I have no idea what a 4-wheeler looks like so you’ll have to take a picture from a distance so I can see the whole thing. Its definitely Spring in Texas but we’re still having a few really cool nights.

Love the picture of the old road. It will be beautiful there when the new leaves come out on the trees. Happy riding! And take lots of pics!

Is that a helmet with a camera mounted on top? Figure it is if it is Jerry’s!

Beautiful! I so wish I could tromp around on your back roads with you! Looks like paradise.

yvonnem: You have a sharp eye! Yes, that’s a Go-Pro camera that I use for a lot of the things I do. Here is a video of the area Suzanne and I traveled some time back:

WvSky…If I recall correctly, you said that was Blue Creek when you took Suzanne with you? Looks like a fun ride! Hubby and I were into riding almost every weekend a few years ago at a place called Ivy. It’s off Corridor G on McCorkle Rd. Keep hearing rumors of Hatfield-McCoy Trail taking it over, but I don’t think they have. We always had a great time out there. Ever been?

Suzanne, I am so glad for you, you need days to just enjoy. Looking very GOOD.

  10. WvSky says:

I know where McCorkle Rd is, but I’ve never heard that area called Ivy. That’s not too far from the Hatfield trail. The only thing I’m worried about is that they take-over the area I ride for the trail system. That would ruin it.

  11. yvonnem says:

I hear ya Jerry, that’s what worries us. (We ought to all get together and ride!)

Things are getting busy here too, spring fever is in high gear, flower gardens getting cleaned out, gardens ready, lots of blooms and sore muscles, but in a good way.
