What is it? A ship, a plane, Super Marshmallow? These treats look like mushroom clouds on a cracker, but don’t be fooled. They are delicious. Sweet and salty and peanut buttery.
Sometimes I see a recipe come in at Farm Bell Recipes and it’s meant to be. I saw this one come in and I had everything–the crackers, the peanut butter, the marshmallows. Okay, I didn’t have round buttery crackers as called for in the recipe, but I didn’t let my poor Saltines stop me. I was even hungry at the moment AND I had the oven already turned on and room to stick something else in there!
Who am I to say no to so many planets correctly aligned?

These are best eaten warm, so you probably shouldn’t wait till the kids come home from school to finish them off. No, I didn’t just eat ALL those snacks in the picture. Why do you ask?

Eeks looks like a science experiment gone bad. But I’ll take your word for it that they are good.

Yum. We used to have these all the time when I was a kid. I still eat ’em every now and then. They’re also good with a sprinkle of chocolate chips between the pb and marshmallow. ๐

I guess I’ve never baked a marshmallow like that, only toasted them over an open fire or microwaved them, but they look surprisingly…strange. Like mushroom growths or geological hoodoos.
Hmmm, now that I think of it, I DO have Ritz crackers, peanut butter, and marshmallows on hand. Maybe I need to see for myself? But, wait: I have mini marshmallows. I wonder what those would look like. Fairy rings of mushrooms?

Carol Langille says:
Just made six of them…..you know to test the recipe. Ate all six. Not even a crumb left.
Thanks, Jana…now I have to do the test again with chocolate chips and, Whaledancer, I used mini marshamallow and they don’t puff up as high but tasty nonetheless!
Thanks, Suzanne…..yummy!

I actually had your cracker candy recipe in my head all day (I’ve been meaning to try it since I saw it as I’ve never had that before) but I don’t have any chocolate chips. I DO have peanut butter and marshmallows (and I’m craving something sweet) so I am going to try this instead.

Hmmmm… Salt? Good. Peanut butter? Good. Marshmallow? Goooood. Not sure how you can go wrong here. But it does look a little disturbing. Maybe if we eat them with our eyes closed….
