Breaking News

Okay, so breaking news might be a slight exaggeration…. But remember the interview? It was published in this week’s paper and you can see the article online here. (Scroll down to see the article after you click the link.) Let me know what you think!

And this picture is of a “snowman soldier” and I would explain that but I don’t understand it either….. (Yesterday was another snow day off school.)

I think the article was well done!

Neat snowman soldier, by the way. But the kids got a day off school for that bit of the white stuff? Lucky them!

Hmm, the university at which I work hasn’t closed once this year, even though other universities in Ontario have during particularly bad storms. And our public transit hasn’t stopped running, either. Boohoo for me! πŸ˜†

I thought the newspaper article was great, and so is your blog. You are very entertaining. I think I enjoy it so much because I too live in North Carolina and have family in West Virginia. Well, not my family, my husband’s family. But I married into them so they are mine now. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing so much of your life with us.
PS…I love what is happening with you and 52. Everybody needs to love and be loved!!

Great article! I feel my own pulse slow down when I read about your genial and civil interactions there. We had some chickens in the road up here today! A truck carrying chickens overturned on the Brooklyn-Queens-Expressway in NYC, and they were all running amok. They are all back where they belong now…but I wish they could be like yours and just walk around freely. Be well.

  4. Pamela - ATL says:

I think the article was well written. Did he have to mention the fall in the chair though? LOL

I’ve read your blog for some time now and never commented. I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your loyalty to your readers. The fact that you post daily, even with the dreadful flu, shows your commitment to your readers. I enjoy your blog every mornong with my cup of coffee. Thanks for that!

Thanks for sharing the article. I have been chceking the paper and then this morning before I could check it..you were already ten steps ahead of me. I love how you have made this move experience into something so entertaining…It is the first thing I do every morning. My family thinks I am possessed/addicted. Can’t seem to get enough of a good thing. Sorta like chocolate…you can never have too much!

Excellent article! I loved it. Your blog is awesome. If you ever want to start a separate blog, just humor, call it “Why Did the Chickens Cross the Road?” LOL

  14. Shirley says:

Suzanne, the article was great. I admire you for being brave enough to make the change you have made. I’m sure you received quite a bit of resistance from the kids when you made the initial decision to move.

As for chickens in the road–I grew up in rural Arkansas, and there were chickens in the road, and you tried very hard not to hit them. They were what put breakfast, and baked goods on the table. My mother killed and cleaned one for lots of Sunday dinners. That’s the noon meal in the country.

Over in NorthWest Arkansas, the financial folks, at one time, used what they called dead chicken economics to do their forcasting. It seems that when chickens are transported, some manage to get out of the coops. When times are good, you see them lying dead on the road. When times aren’t so good, there are none, because people stop, pick them up, take them home, clean them and eat them.
