It’s barely spring and I’m dreaming about summer. PAX 3 is due at the end of May, right around the time the kids get out of school, and I’ll be taking a break. Oh, I’ll do some writing–developing new ideas–but overall, it’ll be a slow summer work-wise. I’m planning to finish the kitchen wallpaper job that I started six months ago and abandoned, finish painting the front hall and kitchen trim, and paint my bedroom and bathroom. We’re going to the beach, and I’m looking forward to the Romance Writers of America conference in Reno. I’ll take the kids to the neighborhood pool almost every day, and read a lot of books. And bake cookies. I’ve written five books in the past year and a half and I need to get a life, LOL.
I want it to be summer NOW!! Anyone else dreaming about summer plans already? π

Suzanne,
I’m so glad you wrote so much over this last year, but I’m proud of you for taking time off. The last thing in the world you want to do is burn out. π

What a nice plan, Suzanne! You’ll get your batteries all recharged. π
My summer is going to involve reading books and waiting for the new arrival to start sleeping.

No! No rush for summer here! I’m in AZ and we’re always in tripple digits in the summer (like 115) and the spring here is beautiful. Summer also means my 3 sons are home, but this year we will have a pool (if Shasta ever gets their tails in gear) so they’ll be able to play in the pool to keep them busy. π
Summer still means writing for me. Can’t stop. π

Warm weather! I can’t wait. I know my writing will slow down with the kids home, but we’re going to make a point of getting out and having fun. π I’m going to Reno, as well, and maybe a long weekend trip to St. Louis. I’m trying to find it in the budget for a big trip somewhere, but well, the checkbook keeps telling me NO. π

Hey Suzanne,
Thanks for the info on Amazon. I think I’m going to try that. You’re always a wealth of information!
And yes, I’m looking forward to summer, but my kids are already out of college, so it’s not for the lazy, no carpooling, no homework reasons, that most moms have. I just love the whole package of warm (hot in CA) days, sunshine and beaches. Can’t wait.

God yes! Sooo looking forward to summer. Dh will finally be home and we’re going root-hunting. That is to say, finding a place to put down roots when he retires next year. But mostly I’m just looking forward to dh being home. π

I HATE summer! I much prefer winter. The sun depresses me. π
No real plans for this summer, though I may try to get out to Washington to visit my parents. And I’m sure I’ll take a trip to North Caroline to visit a friend who suffered a stroke last year.
Your summer sounds so much better than mine! *g*
