It wasn’t that long ago that Glory Bee was the same size as Poky and Jack! And look at that–that is Nutmeg walking RIGHT UNDER HER!

Can you imagine the milk that “hoss of a cow” is going to give you one day?….You will be able to open a single cow dairy milk farm!
Maybe a cheese factory and ice cream parlor to boot!

How much does it cost to feed two cows?
On April 6, 2011 at 12:17 pm
Suzanne McMinn says:
The cost to feed a cow depends on the time of year. Glory Bee, of course, is still milking BP every day, too, as well as eating hay and feed. Feeding BP is a twofer since she also feeds Glory Bee. A cow can go through a bale of hay a day in the winter, but when grass is in, they don’t need any hay at all, so there are a lot of variables with the cost of hay different in different places and the cost of feed and depending on the time of year. I don’t think I know a figure off the top of my head. We get our hay cheap, though–about 2/bale.

It’s going to be pretty funny when GB is bigger than momma and still nursing, which by the looks of that picture, is not far off!

Goodness Gracious she’s grown! Does she have to get on her knees to get the udder? I always found that amusing, giant calves as big as, or bigger, than momma getting down on their knees to get under her. Regardless of how much she loves her momma, I’m sure BP will be weaning her before too long.

Whew that’s a big baby! She’s such a pretty little thing, even if she IS rotten! 😉 One of our neighbors has I-Don’t-Know-How-Many calves right now and I always wish they’d let me give them kisses (apparently they don’t like that lol). I have such a soft spot for cows. Well, and sheep, goats, chickens, cats, dogs…okay all of ’em! That’s reason enough to buy land and start a farm, right? Right… :moo:
