Ross started the 10-hour drive back to his base yesterday afternoon. He has homework due first thing Tuesday morning, so he wanted today to work on it. It was soooo wonderful to have him home for a few days. Since he wouldn’t be here on July 4, and since he does love fireworks, he set off fireworks over the river Saturday evening. We parked in the ford, sat on the tailgate, listened to music, and watched our little show. Fun in the country!
Tonight, Frank will be setting off a huge display across the river. He is a one-man fireworks show every year and we get the benefit. He always “practices” a few nights in advance. Here is one of his practice shots, through the trees.
Tonight we’ll park in the ford, sit on the tailgate, listen to music, and watch Frank’s show.
Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing today–happy fourth of July!
Sounds wonderful! Happy 4th Suzanne!

Miss Judy says:
I love “country” celebrations. We have celebrated the 4th with the same family for over 40 years. Backyard fireworks are so fun…as long as they keep it safe and sane!
So glad to be an American.

Happy Independence Day to Suzanne, your followers, our servicemen here and abroad, and the citizens of the great land of all, the United States of America. We will add Ross as a personal note to the other servicemen on our prayer list.
Please post pictures of fireworks from this evening. For the first time in its history, our city and countywide, fireworks are banned due to the extreme drought. We resort to film and virtual displays tonight, but we are thankful those options are available.
God bless you and your wonderful site.
