My grandmother always did the same thing – cherry & blueberry toppings.  I never paid attention to how she made the pie itself, just that it was quick and easy.  I found one that used Dream Whip as one of the ingredients, but it just wasn't right – wasn't the way I remembered it.  This recipe sounds like it could be the one I'm looking for!  I'll try it and see.

Cheesecake is one of my favorite things in the world.  Made one many years ago with a baked crust (not exactly like a pie crust, but not graham cracker) that was the absolute best thing I ever tasted.  Wish I still had that recipe.  It used 5 big pkgs of cream cheese, the bottom crust baked for a bit, then the same crust was added around the sides of the spring form pan, the filling put in, then baked for quite a while.  When nearly finished, a sour cream layer was added, then baked some more.

I couldn't believe that I had made the thing, and neither could anyone else!

Can't seem to locate my second favorite cheesecake recipe, either.  It had mini-chocolate chips in it, on a chocolate crust.

I've been looking for some recipes for that type of cheesecake, Pete….I've found some using that much cream cheese and the sour cream, but none have a different type of crust……….

and I'm betting both your cheesecake recipes are in the same spot! Laugh

Unfortunately, probably not.  Ohhh that it were that easy!  Lost the original one over 30 years ago, and used the "new" one about 10 years ago.

The sour cream topping is my favorite for cheesecake, too.  The sweet-sour tang of the slightly sweetened sour cream sets the cheese cake filling off to perfection.   Mmmm, I'm getting all misty-eyed just thinking about it.
