Easiest Chicken I Ever Made

I wanted to try one of my home grown chickens, but cant remember to take one out of the freezer. So today before I went to spend the day with my mom sewing, I put one in the crock pot…frozen solid!

I have done briskets like that and figured, what the hay, give the girls a try.

I unwrapped it and plopped it in the pot

Mixed about a cup of chicken broth with a tablespoon each of basil and oregano. Poured it over the bird. Put the lid on. Turned it to low. And let it cook till I got home, about 6 hours.

My house smells heavenly! And all I did was pick up the bones out of it! Every bone I picked up came out clean. Then I tore up the breast with a fork and dumped it over noodles.

Totally yummy!

I have a turkey breast I keep forgetting to take out of the freezer. I wonder if this would work for it?

Georgia – I can just smell it now.  I have done that too and with a roast too.  I love the crock pot – no fuss or mess.   My mother died when I was 40, she was 82 and had my sister and I at age 41.  Enjoy – I use to sew with her too.  I made a wedding dress with her one time with no pattern. we just cut it out on the bed.

GeorgiaZ, that sounds sooo good! I would love that over RICE!!! YUM OH, and since you mentioned it with noodles…you could even make SOUP out of that!
