Peanut Butter Sheet Cake

2 cups sugar

2 cups flour

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 tsp. b.soda

1 tsp.salt

1 cup water

1/2 cup oil

1 1/2 sticks butter

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar,flour, b.soda and salt in large bowl. In med. saucepan, bring peanut butter, water, oil and butter to a boil. Once boiling pour over dry ingred. and mix well. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into 10x 15 jelly roll pan{greased} Bake 15-20 min at 350 degrees.

Icing:

In saucepan bring 1/2 peanut butter, 1/3 cup milk, 1 stick butter, 1 tsp. vanilla to a boil. Add 4 cups powdered sugar and beat till smooth. Frost cake while hot.

This cake is very addictive-you can't leave it alone!Eating

OK, this sounds very intriguing, but I've never tried a cake like this… where it says 'frost cake while hot', is that while the frosting is hot? or while the cake is hot/warm? or both?  I'm sorry that I'm so clueless… I guess I've mostly made boring ordinary cakes but this does look interesting! Yes

If tomatoes are a fruit, then isn’t ketchup technically a

smoothie?

I make my frosting while the cake is baking and pour the frosting on when the cake comes out of the oven. So to answer your question, they should both be hot/warm.

Mommafox is right on when to put the icing on. I'm making this to take to a party Saturday nite- I'm going to put some peanut butter cups on top chopped to fancy it up!Happy Flower

The last time I made these they magically disappeared from the pan and it's only me and my hubby in the house! Good for a large group of people- quick to make!
