These are Ranch Style Beans…made on the top of the stove…the recipe came from my friend, Shelly…so the kids have always asked for "Shelly Beans".

Shelly Beans

2-16 ounce cans of baked beans (drained)

1 pound hamburger (can use 1/2 venison)

white or sweet onion, chopped (add the amount you want)

2 slices bacon, diced

jalapeño or serrano, minced (optional)

1 large tablespoon yellow mustard

1 cup ketchup

2/3 cup water

2/3 cup brown sugar

Brown hamburger with bacon and chopped onion.  (I toss the onion in last, and barely cook it.)  Drain.  Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer…let it cook down…stirring carefully so you don't mush the beans.
