Are you going Black Friday shopping?  Are you going for a specific item or are you going just to watch the madness?

The person who upsets you the most is your best teacher, because they bring you face to face with who you are.

I'm considering if I want to wake up eeeeaaaarrrrrrly and try to get to one store for a really GREAAAAT price on a computer.  It's one of those 'door opener' specials, so they probably have like 2 of them and who knows if I'd be early enough!  I haven't decided yet, we'll see how turkey day goes first!

//edit to say// I almost NEVER do this, I'm just tempted this time.  Did it one other year with friends and it was fun and we got great buys, but I just don't know if it's usually worth the stress!

I literally would not shop Black Friday if somebody paid me to do it.  I will simply not allow myself to be conned Spinning Devil into thinking that I need whatever it is they are selling so badly that I cannot buy it for not-all-that-much-more money any other day of the year.  I have worked Black Friday, and seen people come to blows over cheap Censored from China that they could buy for literally $5.00 more any day of the week.  Shop Black Friday?  Vomit, NO THANKS!

I avoid even grocery shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I've yet to see a deal that will get me in a store on Black Friday.

Variety being the spice of life, it sure is nice that those who want to participate are free to do so, while those who don't want to don't have to.    Wink

Cool  Oh yes, like I said, I’ve gone with friends, and most people I know who ‘subject themselves’ to black Friday shopping look at it as an adventure.  The times I’ve gone it’s always been with friends and with specific goals and great lunch plans! If other people take it too seriously, well, shame on them.  Chicken

Oh, definitely…I didn't mean to imply that people shouldn't go, just that I see no reason why I would want to go No.  Its just too crazy a scene for me, although it can be interesting in a surreal sort of way Shroom, I suppose (from my point of view, that is).

p.s.  I have worked Black Friday at a very, very large retailer who shall remain unnamed…let me tell you, the view from the inside is very interesting, and its just as crazy a scene as on the customer's end of things.

My sister goes every year. My husband and I have gone once (he swore never again). I will be going with my daughter as she wants to get a laptop for college. So……there we will be standing hoping there are enough for her to get one. But I will really be looking forward to getting home so that I can relax.

I used to go all the time back in college days……..with a bunch of girlfriends, lunch plans, it was a fun, fun day.  I tried it again about 6 years ago………….got VERY good deals (and I am a deal watcher!), but the price I had to pay for those deals just weren't worth it for me!!  Laugh  I like people, I really do, but there were just tooooo many all at once!  I like that they have the online variety now!

I'm with Helen. You couldn't pay me to go out in such chaos. But it is interesting to hear younger ones talk about going and mapping out their strategies. I'll just stay safe at home.LOL
