Hi Mary, waveI wondered where you were.

…I updated to Windows 8 and now I don't have any problems with the scrolling. I am not very up to date on my computer…I am very uneducated about things computer related. i probably need a new computer but there are other things i'd rather spend my money on. I'll probably regret thyat when the computer crashes!

Miss Judy, While your older computer may crash, you may find that it simply does less and less, and develops problems and bad behaviors, e.g. scrolling, along the way. All of which will diminish your pleasure in using the computer. I agree, there are lots more things calling for attention, but this is one where the obsolesence isn't really planned, it's just that the field is moving so fast and improvements are piled one atop another. Sometimes, perhaps every 4-5 years there is a major investment needed. The rest of the time the upgrades are free to those with the latest software.

Hi Miss Judy..   I am using IE 9, so that is not it.  I've done all they said to do when they did the last update, but the problem is still here!

Hi Donna.  :)

@ MaryB   I bought a new laptop last year.  I had problems with IE right away.  I switched to Google Chrome as my web browser and haven't had any problems.  It is a very simple browser, it doesn't have to load a lot of stuff to get started.  So it is much faster.  I would recommend trying another browser before you decide it is the computer.  Good Luck!

happy-butterflyI have been trying to eradicate lemon balm from my flower gardens, this stuff is everywhere and I am not sure how to get rid of it, I have tried to dig it out but it just comes back, any suggestions on what will kill it—for good? grrr

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

You are trying to kill it and I planted 4 plants.  Maybe we should get together and I could take some of your lemon balm.  So far I have one sprout.  Maybe I better grow it in a container.  Soinds as though it is as invasive as mint.

Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like you do when no one is watching.

Lemon balm IS invasive as mint, in fact it is a member of the mint family. I planted one or two tiny sprigs one year and the next year I had a huge clump! It smells good, though, and the bees love it. I have it on the edge of my garden and if it gets too big the escaped part gets mowed off when I mow.

Remember, if it rains on your picnic it's also raining on your garden!

Hi mamawolf, this suff is unreal. is does smell wonderful which is the only perk when trying to dig it out— our yard is about 2.5 acres, and I have found this stuff everywhere, I dont mind except in my flower beds. I have tried spraying it which does work, but it comes up in all of my plants—word of caution, if you plant this, keep it out of the beds and just in a pot. I have helped my neighbor get rid of mint, but I think this is worse like brookdale says, it come up in huge clumps.

If life gives you lemon balm—beware!! wink

I must not have good soil…..the neighbor gave me spearmint and peepermint that are over taking her place.  Mine are growing but not at the rate her has.  I'm not a good gardener….but I figured at least I didn't kill it!

I just planted 4 last summer.  I heard they were invasive.  They are definitely growing and survived the snow just fine, lol.  They are in a raised bed with my other herbs.  I started them for tea……hope I don't regret it.  I might have to sink a metal collar around them before they get too big.

I planted it because I want it for tea.  Definitely will put it in a large container and share with a friend.  Dug up some spearmint this morning which had escaped out of its container, a wooden box and the stuff snuck out belneath it.  Thanks for all the infor about invasion of the Lemon Balm!

My lemon balm hasn't gone wild, but I must admit I wouldn't mind if it did so where it's planted.

On an entirely different note, I do wish we had a "Like" button sometimes!  Hearing people talk about learning new skills, trying new things, new crafts, new recipes, out in the garden just makes me happy and makes me want to giggle and grin!
