Have you seen any good movies lately? Tell us about them.
I watched "Jumpers" and had two nightmares that night (LOL). I don't know why as it didn't seem to bother me, watching it.
Last night, we watched "The Bucket List" and I just cried in one part. It is really good. Funny too!!

Over the holidays, we watched Wall*e, The Dark Knight and Shrek 2. I must say I rather enjoyed all of them, but the best was Wall*e. It was amazing how the film makers were able to portray the story line and emotions with what was really simple computer beeps and noises. Very well done.

I liked the bucket list too. I really liked Tropic Thunder it is a bit crude but it definately keeps you laughing.

Loved The Bucket List!
We watched The Dark Knight this past week too. Good Flick. Right now we're watching The Green Mile.
I'd like to see Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. It looks good.

I will watch anything at all with Clint! That man just keeps getting better and better! I cant even think of a movie I have seen lately except The Three Godfathers with John Wayne. I love that movie. Old westerns are just about my favorite.

I had a picture of my father with John Wayne…I sent it to my relative in West Texas – my dad's sister – she wanted it. John was in San Antonio in the early 70s and it was a picture of my dad standing by him, and they were cutting a cake of The Alamo, eating dinner. LOL I may have already mentioned this. My father had it in the CHEAPEST plastic frame, with NO GLASS…so my aunt wanted to restore it. It's like 8x10 or larger.

Over Christmas I saw the Benjamin Button movie – very strange indeed and very long 2.5 hrs. I think the editing and cinnemaphotogry was outstanding. The acting too. It is set in New Orleans in the early 1900s up to Katrina. An unusual story by Faulkner. I think it is in part a commentary on what it is like to very old and very young and how they are the same – in contrast to your prime years and how you are able to do anything in your prime. there is a lot there but I am not sure I am up to watch it again. it was a rollercoaster ride for sure but worth seeing the first time. be aware though – it is long.

I too loved The Bucket List. The Green Mile is an awesome movie……I had read Steven Kings book too. I think that's one of the few movies that seemed to go along with the book so well. Of course, getting to look at Tom Hanks for a couple hrs did'nt hurt anything either.

I had heard of that movie…I'll have to pass it on to my friend – she goes weekly to movies. Much more than I do.
I loved the Green Mile too!

Smother starring Diane Keaton (2008)was showing on Lifetime channel all wk end. It was sooo funny! A comedy drama. It's a must see, guys! I watched it twice, well, the second time I was doin other things around the house and did'nt watch evey min of it, but I just liked it so much. Thats my kinda movie!

I have that movie, Jumpers on DVD (borrowed) but was so tired fell asleep watching it……….probably a good thing if it was too scary, Ha, Ha!

Another good movie out is Nims Island. I didn't think I would like it but it was so good I watched it twice.

My nephew said Marley and Me is good.
I LOVE "Sex and Mrs. X" on Lifetime but don't see it often…it has Jacqueline Bisset in it. Also Linda Hamilton.

Regardless of whether or not you are a sci-fi person, you need to check these out:
Firefly, the TV Series (It's cancelled now, but Sci-fi regularly airs them) and Serentiy (The movie made after the show was canceled because all the fans were outraged at Fox network.) They are EXCELLENT. You will love them.
And then:
Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long-BLog — This was first aired in 3 episodes on the internet. If you look around I'm sure you can still find it and watch it for free. If no there's Itunes or Amazon. It's excellent, and it's made by the same creator of Firefly and Serenity (are we sensing a pattern).
Wonderfalls – Cancelled by Fox as well, but it was an excellent show.
Movies? Hellboy 2 – If you haven't seen the first one, do yourself a favor and watch that one too. It's really a great movie. Especially if you're into faeries, goblins, etc.
Pan's Labyrinth -A bit dark and gory in places, but a fantastic story over all.
The Hulk – The new one with Liv Tyler, not the old one fro ma few years back. The remake is MUCh better. :D
And there are about 382 others I could offer up as well, but I'm on limited lunch time here! So that will have to do for now! Enjoy!

Hello hello! Yes, I don't have the chance to post like I used to but I do poke about now and again!
I think you'd love it! You don't need to see Hellboy I to see the second, but you get a bit of the backstory on the characters if you do, but this is completely stand alone story! :D

Marley and Me I think just hit the theatres at Christmas, so it's probably still on the big screen! My mom saw it and loved it!

Kelleh, I LOVE Joss Whedon!! For those who were Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, the creator of that (Joss Whedon) also did Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog. I totally  Neal Patrick Harris! Did you catch him on SNL this past week. One of the funniest episodes ever! The Hugh Laurie one was amazing too. I'm a huge House fan, but I have watched Hugh from way back when he did Jeeves and Wooster and A Bit of Fry and Laurie.
I have very eclectic tastes in movies and TV, besides the above mentioned stuff, I LOVE British mysteries, Inspector Morse, Inspector Frost, Agatha Christie mysteries, especially Poirot with David Suchet. Midsomer Murders is the ones I've been watching the seasons on DVD most recently. The only DVD rental things are the best way to get the hard-to-find stuff like that.
My most recent movies watched were The Singing Detective starring Robert Downey Jr (I'm a huge fan of his too – I'm such a fangirl!) Tropic Thunder (had seen in theater but rented the uncut version LOL Hilarious! – but yeah it's not for kids, that's for sure! )
…and The Women . My husband actually sat through this movie with me. He gets brownie points for that. As we were watching the opening credits and scenes, we were astounded by the big name female stars in the movie, then realized there are NO MEN in this movie. I mean not on the sidewalks, none of the ones they're married to and talk to on the phone are ever in it, no men at all. It's wild. We'd never seen a movie done like that, but it was SO refreshing. If you're looking for a good chick flick to just kick back with a cup of tea and some popcorn with, I highly recommend it.
