Christmas gift swap 2011

It's this time of the year again… tat bit later than former years…but here we go.

The CITR Christmas swap 2011.

For the newcomers…it is easy, you make a gift for a swap partner, only one rule.

IT HAS TO BE HOME/HANDMADE.

You can knit, sew, quilt, crochet, bake, can, saw, paint  etc..anything homemade will do.

Now in former years, I gave you a name for a swap partner right from the start..this year it will be a little different.

It happend it the past that gifts where mailed out later,Now I totally understand that sometimes life just gets in the way…but I hope everybody understands that  that is no fun at the receiving end… also I mailed 3 gift packages out to members who  didn't receive anything.

So therefore we won't swap names…until the last day. That will be the day after Thanksgiving and gifts are to be mailed that week.

You can sign up, simply pm me, with name and address…. if I write your name in this posting..you are in..and you can start making a gift.

Then a few days before you are suppose to mail your gift…I will contact everybody who signed up, to confirm  if your gift is ready..if it is…you get a name, if you for whatever reason..not finished with your gift..you are not  in the gift exchange. no hard feelings, we understand.

So let the fun begin.

There is not an amount put on your gift..you know what you can spend.

However just a reminder…if you are making something from your kitchen..be aware that some of us live in cold areas and things as jelly will freeze and break.

Now I'm going to look for the postings from last years pictures…but don't be afraid if you find them first…please post the link.

Just so that you get an idea of what was made last year..(and may be even the year before if they are still on here)

We're busy trying to squeeze in some crafting before we have to deal with turkey and trimmin's. . . Just to be sure, we get our swap names on Black Friday (24) and have to mail/send  week of 11/27?

Mods: is there a way to keep this on the front page so the newbies can find it? (okay, so even us oldies can find it, too.)

Topics with new comments are displayed on the front page.  If it goes off the front page, it needs to be "bumped".  It's all automatic, we have no control sun  But your comment bumped it!

If you're a newbie and still being "moderated", you won't have the PM ability.  Leave a comment here.  When you see it's approved, go ahead and PM Flatlander.

I "pinned" the topic, which will at least keep it on or near the top of the "Primitive Crafts & Country Style" heading.  That's the best we can do bonita!   cool

Added this because these pages are so jam-packed with possibilities that unfamiliar eyes can glaze over . . .

Ok, I'm a newbie to this and I' m still being " moderated" so I don't have the 'pm' capabilities to give you my address Flatlander, but as soon as I do, I'll send you my address. This sounds like so much fun. Thanks,

I would love to become part of the Christmas swap but I'm not exactly computer literate when it comes to learning new things.  Will I automatically be added to the list after sending this post or is there something else I need to do?
