I found this very cool way of chain free crocheting!

I have found crochet techniques I have never heard of before………tunisian twist over stitch – that looks pretty neat….and a backwards single crochet — you use this for an edging, it looks like it's twisted around.

You know there was something I wanted to make that involved a heart and I can not for the life of me think of what it was!!!   But crocheted hearts would look cute to incorporate them into a scrap page or a card!

Isn't that what you do 'over' a curtain ring or a hair tie to cover it?  As soon as I saw that I thought of the little Christmas wreaths my mother made.  I knew just where they were since christmas wasn't so long ago, and I took a picture of some.

(sorry for poor quality pics)

You can see little loops at the top to hang and there are little brass safety pins on the backs of some to pin on things, including a blouse or jacket lapel.

I should have put a ruler down, instead of the quartter for those in other monitary regions, but the red one is over some large ring and is about 1 1/2 inches across and the green one is crocheted over a curtain ring and is much smaller.

I'm quite sure she used that same method over rings to make these.

One video shows how to crochet scrunchies for pony tail holders, did'nt watch it yet but probablly over one of those plain ponytail holders. That's so neat to have some things your Mom crocheted,Deb!

I agree Leah and I appreciate every single one of them, but I can't swing a cat around here without hitting something she's made. Laugh  She could crochet, read a book and keep track of a TV show all at the same time.  That woman was a multi-tasking maniac and she hardly slept. There's no way I could ever hope to keep up with her and it makes me tired just thinking about trying!

I took up crafts that she didn't do so much, partly because she was so darn good at 'her' things.  I realize now the psychology of that is a little wonky, but back in the day it's just the way it all went and what's more, SHE knew what I was doing perfectly well and was quite amused by it.  She never pushed either, because there wasn't really any point to it.  We both had things we enjoyed and that was ok.
