Hi all!!
I was given a crocheted (sp?) lace tablecloth, but it has yellowed spots all over. Any ideas how to remove those stains?

I've not tried this but I have heard lemon juice and sunlight. While we are on this subject does anyone have any ideas for removing sharpie red marker from levi jeans? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try the stain removal question on the Sharpie website. They recommend when all else fails something called Amodex Stain remover.
When I get home tonight, I'll check my stain removal list in my laundry room!

OK…here's what it says on my stain guide for felt tip pen:
"Flush with denatured alcohol using an eyedropper; wash with dish-washing detergent"
Good luck!

Cyndi: Thank you so much. This happened with a pair of my son in law's new jeans and we've tried almost everything. Will do this tomorrow.

Heres my stain problem…I was blessed with large…um…upper frontal load…and no matter what I eat, I need a bib. I dont need a napkin in my lap, I need it on my chest. Nothing ever reaches my lap. So needless to say, almost every blouse I have sooner or later gets that "spot" front and center. I treat it, but it just never seems to come out.

Georgia, I have the same problem! It doesn't matter what I do, something always gets on the front of me. And then I have people who live in my house that like to leave chapstick in their pockets…and well, I don't really check pockets unless it jingles.
I've had luck with spotting the area with dishwashing detergent and then rubbing in laundry detergent before washing. I've been looking for an old recipe I saw in one of my Tighwad Gazette books that was really good at taking out stains (you had to soak the item). If I find it, I'll let you know.
