I'm up to my sewing room right NOW…and continue working on my pumpkin quilt..I know..it won't be finished before winter.

That's fine..there will be another fall next year…and then it wil be finished.

Just don't have the time to sew when it is summer, harvest time etc.

Here are a few pics, I filled the lamp base with old buttons, spools of thread, zippers, etc, it's one of a kind.  The aprons are some that I just made, hoping to get more made for Christmas.  The middle pic is much too small, but I can't figure out how to resize the pic.  Oh well, I embrodiered a butterfly on the bib, and put lace on the bottom.  They are fun to make, I just sorta made up a pattern.

Each October when the little pumpkins and gourds appear at the store I can't resist getting a few to make these candles.  I've used them as placecards with the guests' names written on them, and on the fencepost on Halloween to make the yard look inviting.  This year I'm not going anywhere, and we won't have trick-or-treaters to see them, but I still made my candle holders to light on my dresser.

I buy some tomato and chile products that come in cans that are lined in a white surface on the inside.  Now the kind I mean?  I wish these and punch out designs with an awl or sometimes an icepick and paint if I want – or not – and put tealights in them.  Cute cute.

Great candle ideas! I am considering making candles again. It has been a few years since I make anything with wax but might start again making fire starters (pinecones dipped in wax) and I figure, if I do that, I might make some candles too.

Lately I have been making beaded lanyards and am going to make some beaded eyeglass thingies.

a suggestion, for beaders out there.  If you are making the eye glass holders to sell, consider making ID badge lanyards too.  As an ID badge wearer, I see these sell like hotcakes!  I have several to match my outfits, school colors, and favorite team colors.

on to what I'm crafting.  Hit a huge sale at Michaels yesterday and got some adorable stamps I can't wait to play with.  Mostly snowflakes, but a few fall stamps and a Santa one I can't wait to play with!  First I must clean my bathroom.  Then I can play.

The beaded badge lanyards are a huge hit!  I got my daughter one done tastefully in black and clear beading…and all the gals in her office wanted one.  Keep 'em neutral…because then they can be used every day with any outfit….or if not neutral, then make them REALLY wild and unique.

I made some! I made some and sold them where I used to work. I only had to make one for a friend who requested it, then a few others wanted them too. They are so easy to make. Its scrounging the unique beads that takes time. Pure dark purple is so hard to find!

I have had some requests for beaded eyeglass thingies (its an industry term). I am going to make some of those for Christmas.

Something else I am making for Christmas are fridge magnets, painted. I am using metal frozen juice can lids with a small magnet glued on the back. I paint small Christmas scenes on them.

I am going to paint more Christmas tree ornaments this year too. Those were popular before with the year painted on them and sometimes a name.

I have to get busy!! Time is moving on and there's so much to do! I have to finish the soap first…

I've not done much project wise for quite awhile but a gift from some friends has renewed my interests.  I was given a lot of fabric and fabric scraps.  Her mom was into all kinds of crafts but now the dementia has progressed so much that she no longer can remember how.  Another friend is seamstress for Theatrical dept. at one of the local colleges and e-mailed that she is giving me a lot of bundles of scrap material from this last production.

This got me perked up so I'm going to start a simple 9 Patch quilt.

One source I found for beads is Crazycrow.com,  they have all types of craft items not just Native American items.  Any beaders might want to try them.

And I know what I'm doing for the Christmas Swap!  Can't do much about it yet between the blurry vision and the possibility that making it could involve some sharp objects, which are still forbidden.  But I know what to make, and I know who is getting it!  Yippie.   Smiley Puppy

I have finally made my decision to end my membership at our local sewing club.

the ladies who are in charge are getting out of control…and I don't want a fight..so chicken as I am..I'm going to cancel.

THAT gives me the opportunity today…to sew the whole day..just for myself (and the swap)

And I'm going to make pumpkin butter…the puree I made yesterday.

That is a craft too……right?

Life is just too short to do anything you don't want to do, unless you risk something dire if you don't do it.  The sewing club will fight on without you.

That is exactly what I think….but there are ladies who I really like..so that is why it took some time for me to decide.

But I'm glad I did.

I designed our Christmas card today with photoshop and it's uploaded to snapfish for my great deal!  (Also loaded other photos too, to use as notecards)

That's a beautiful Christmas Card! Very nice design and cute pups!

I am making beaded lanyards, eyeglass chains and key chains today. its fun! The small key chains are a good way to use up the odd beads I have leftover from bigger things.

That's a good idea,to use leftover beads for the keychains! I mostly scrapbook, make cards, altered art (new hobby) and I want to get back to crocheting soon.

Besides quilting every day???  LOL

If I sit down on the couch for a minute and if I don't immediately have my elderly kitty jump up in my lap, I grab my thread crochet.  Besides sewing I adore crocheting.  I just love the thread crochet using the little thread sized 30 or 40 if I can find it.  Right now I am making a filet stitch table cloth.  I just can't sit and watch TV, my hands have to be busy with something.

I'm also sewing a Jewel Box quilt top a king sized one.  I have a queen size bed but I like the quilt to come farther down on the sizes and up over my pillows.

I love crafts!
