Ever had the feeling that you had been locked in a room with slavering Rotweillers, with a pork chop tied around your neck?…………………well I have.

Yesterday I decided to have a baking day.since I tried the pear and cheese gallette with huge success, admitedly I used store bought shortcrust pastry.Ive been reading the wonderful recipies  and been  phsyching myself up to try breadmaking. Having purchased all the necassary items, plus a few other ingredients,I set to. Made the dough, and whilst waiting for it to rise, quickly knocked off a Maple syrup, pecan and Rum flan, another pear and Blue cheese Galette.Knocked back the dough filled a tin and set it to rise. some left over ….hmmm…Cinnamon Rolls. The flans were done Bread and Rolls in the oven.

Visitors..I swear my wife asked her friends to keep an eye on me,"never know what he will get up to"."will not look after himself "etc. They, (three of them) drop in unannounced from time to time."Just passing by". I don't mind, although sometimes I question their motives. They also enjoy my Claret!!

Now  I dont do housework, clean yes, dusting and polishing No.I enjoy an occasional cigar,so shall we say my place has a certain ambience!! (Enjoyed Mauds perspective on this).

On answering the door,it was obvious their nostrils started to twitch. The gorgeous perfume of my efforts, I think cinnammon is wonderful. "Go on into the lounge,Ive got some cooking due out of the oven".

Needless to say they followed me into the kitchen, and on seeing me take out the bread, rolls, looking at the Gallette and Pie. They got all excited,What,Why, When,Who……….the questions came thick and fast.I decided the truth was better than deception…"I owe it all to Suzanne" said I……hence my opening statement!

Now Ive a bit of a reputation for being a grumpy old bugger, its not natural, I have to work hard at it!!

The devil took me. I resisted all the intense questioning, just smiled and tapped the side of my nose.Devil

I'll swear old ladies are patrolling the entrance.and my phone calls are bugged.I thought that I had better let you know.If you do not hear from me,its obvious Ive been kidnapped, send helpLaughLaughLaugh

PS. The Grandmother Bread turned out very good for a first attempt.I shall persevere

Oh my, the biddy brigade will be spun up to high speed now!  Expect many more inquiries from others of their circle now that you've gotten them curious about who this Suzanne person is!  Laugh  You'll have to keep baking goodies now so they have something to nibble on while they interrogate you (oh so politely of course) about exactly where you met her and who her family is!

If tomatoes are a fruit, then isn’t ketchup technically a

smoothie?
