Mamajhk,

1.  Is it bringing you to the last post you have read or is it going to the very first post?

If there are 67 pages of comments it will go to page 66 not 67 where the lastest posts are.

Is this happening with every topic you look at through the Unread Post icon?  Or a particular one?  Was by chance the last comment YOU read (while signed in) on page 66?

CindyP thanks for all your work on these wonky issues. I totally understand the challenges involved. I kept using MCSFT Office 4 until last fall when I just couldn’t stand the problems I was creating for myself by being behind the times. So, I upgraded to Office 2011. Holy CR*P its as if I had to learn from scratch. . . but there are rewards at the end of the upgrades.

Thanks again.

I was using the 67 page as an example.  When I just came on this thread it went to page 1.  To the best of my knowledge it seemed to be doing it on all of the threads.  I thought maybe it was my computer.  I use Windows 7 and it sometimes makes me want to throw it out the window.

CindyP access seems to be different depending how you enter topic. Come from “# of topics with unread posts” opens to page 1 (absolute). Then user has to chose most recent last page as listed below windows.

Choosing topic from sidebar listing opens to most recent last page directly.

Safari/Firefox

BTW…”Missing posts” may be because of the mixup of “Add reply” which opens reply window AND which remains on screen with input window and “submit reply” which is NOT visible on screen containing input window. User has to scroll down, past dingbats/smileys, to find submit button.  I’ve made that mistake a couple times already until I followed what I was doing.

Picture feature still not working properly, when you click on a picture it gets really big, impossible to look at it, have to click on “back” button at top of page to get back to forum.

Grrrrrr….

Re: the pictures.  There are a few that I found that were just so big when they were loaded.  I can’t edit them smaller, it’s pulling the full image.  AFTER it was fixed, I found an option for them to not be so big when they hit the forum.  When the large ones open, scroll to the right then up if need be…there’s an X, that closes the picture.

Thanks, bonita, re: the missing posts.  Those that were having that issue….could that be the problem?  I didn’t notice the “Add Reply” stays above the comment window (which is easier to see than the “Submit Reply” way down below).

To the right, there are # of replies…if you click that, it takes you to the 1st new reply.

The older I get the less I like change. I think I am turning into a  crantankerous old woman! laugh

I guess the bugs will get worked out before too long. I just did some upgrades and that helped with facebook so maybe this is for the best. In a couple of weeks I am sure I willl wonder why the ‘brave new look” was so aggravating!

Okay when I was clicking on the icon that said “___topics with unread posts” was where it was going to the first page of the thread.

I just clicked on the tab that says “New/recently updated topics” and it went to the current page and the last comment.

My Nancy hates to have to use the computer because there are so many things to look at and decide which one of the many will get her what she wants. When she finally learns how the page is set up she is good to go. She can be pretty cranky until she works it out.help

Lajoda, I had written out posts, when I had clicked to submit, it wouldn’t let me. I had tried a few times, then just gave up for awhile. lol I have not had any trouble this evening with posting. Glad of that. snuggle

One thing I’ve noticed is that when you click on a topic, at least on my browser (Firefox) the screen does jump a little, starting at the top of the page, then it jumps down and there’s a little jerkiness for it to “find” the last post in the topic.  It keeps it much more sane to not try to use my mouse during this process, mousing seems to aggravate things and really make things spin a bit.

As far as difficulty making posts yesterday, the web people were making some minor adjustments in the background which may have caused some issues posting… now I’m not SURE that’s the reason people couldn’t post, but some of the problems were being worked on yesterday, and probably will be some more today so it makes some sense.

There’s still work happening in the background but as far as I know there’s no reason for us to stop browsing or posting so we can keep doing what we do!  Things are already starting to look more familiar and for me at least it’s getting a little easier for me get around.  I hope it’s getting easier for everyone else too.

There is no controlling it on my end.  It is only this site.  I waited for it to jump around and load…  then got 1/2 way thru your post and it took off again to the top.

FYI, mine does the same thing as MaryB’s.  I’ve just learned to live w/it!  I’ll be reading something then off it jumps back to the top of the page.  Sometimes I grab the scroll thing w/my mouse and hold it so that I can get through a reading.  Usually after about the 3rd attempt, it will stay where I want it to without much ado.

Miss Judy, what type of upgrade did you do?  Browser?  If so, what browser?

Ok, before I can help the forum developers figure out what’s happening with the jumping around, I need to know the browsers with browser version (usually if you click Help at the top of the browser, then About).

Please quote and reply this message with your browser and version if you’re having the “page jumping around” problem!!!
